Chelsea Barracks Phase 4

The Chelsea Barracks development is a project that will see three blocks of luxury residential apartments built in Westminster by 2022. The design is a nod to the original army barracks that were built on the site in 1862, but demolished in the 1960s. The original chapel remains and will be refurbished as part of the £1 billion development. The 52,000m² project presented numerous challenges including on-site working hours restrictions and strict deflection and sequencing restraints. Interspan’s post-tensioning system not only helps to address these requirements but also meets the need for increased head height and reduced vertical supports in the design. The UK team is designing and installing the post-tensioning elements for client Keltbray Structures.
